The Aleph 1.0 is unlike the Aleph 1.2 in two ways. First, it has three gain stages instead of two. The Aleph 1.2 amplifier does not have the auxiliary pull circuitry that permits the Aleph 1 to deliver very high currents into low-impedance loads. It allows greater power into loads below 4 ohms.
This is a Class A solid state midrange to die for—clean without a trace of an electronic signature. This sense of ease is something the 1.0 shares with other powerful amplifiers; but unlike most big solid-state power amps, the 1.0's lack of electronic artifacts is special.
